privacy

your data, plainly.

last updated june 2026.

the short version: assertly stores the test specs you write and the results of the runs we execute for you. we don’t sell your data or train models on your private specs, and we only access the urls your tests tell us to visit.

what we collect

  • the natural-language test specs you write
  • the generated steps, run logs, timings, and screenshots we produce
  • the urls your tests instruct us to visit
  • your account email and name (from your login)

what we don't collect

  • websites or urls your tests never reference
  • your browsing history outside the runs you trigger
  • your password — auth is delegated to our identity provider
  • analytics that track you across the web

how test execution works

when you run a test, assertly launches a sandboxed headless browser and visits only the urls your spec references. it captures the run log and, on failure, a screenshot of the page at the point of failure. those artifacts are stored against the run so you can review them.

ai processing

test steps are generated by a large language model (anthropic’s claude). we send your spec to generate the steps and receive structured output back. we do not use your private specs to train models.

data retention & deletion

test suites and their runs persist until you delete them or close your account. to delete your account and all associated data, email us and we’ll remove it.
